Awards (Inter County Baseball Association)

Kurtis Haid of Waterloo led the 16U team to an 18-6 record, including a perfect 5-0 sweep at the AA OBA’s. Following in his father’s footsteps, Kurtis has been a dedicated WMBA coach, known for his passion, patience, and deep knowledge of the game. Beyond team success, he ran a 12-week catching program attended by 30 players across 20 teams, showing his commitment to player development. As a non-parent coach, Kurtis has been a positive role model and a driving force in nurturing talent.

Ben Ehgoetz of Stratford led the 16U team to a 20-4 regular season record and a 5-0 run to the ICBA championship. A non-parent coach, Ben focuses on developing players over just winning games, holding every athlete to the same standard and providing one-on-one support outside of practice. Known for his patience, encouragement, and baseball knowledge, he also volunteers his time to support younger teams.

Paul's patience and baseball knowledge make his teams better every year. His on field leadership brought an ICBA championship to Waterloo in 2022. Paul also coaches with Laurier at the University Level for the past number of years. He joined WMBA Board this past year and assist other coaches with bookings for winter workouts.Pauls team battled hard in the regular season and had a solid showing at this years OBA tournament.

After a difficult start to the season, Mark led his team to a 22-2 July and August, finishing with a league title, a playoff title in a difficult 16U league. They also won the 16U A OBA championship.Under Mark’s leadership, his players learned dedication, team before self, sacrifice - of the personal, and the bunt variety - and the ability to learn and accept instruction. The team grew both on and off the field throughout the season and competed hard and fairly all year long.
