Senior Pitcher of the Year

Awarded annually to a senior-aged pitcher (14U-18U) who demonstrated an outstanding season as a pitcher while also exemplifying characteristics of dedication, sportsmanship, and a high level of athletic ability.

Preston Hackert

Kitchener 16U

Preston was the team's ace but also contributed at the plate and in the field. He finished the year with 131 strikeouts over 71 innings. On the night of his 100th strikeout, he made it to the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs posting a shutout with 14K's before he reached his pitch count limit. Preston finished the season 12-3-0 as a starter, with a 2.55 ERA. Coaches in the 16U league this past year said on numerous occasions that Preston was the top pitcher in the league and one of the best they have ever faced. Umpires in the league also commented on his command and skill. Preston is a pleasure to coach and continues to learn more and more about this great game.
